Tara decided to install solar PV panels to take advantage of the feed in tariff and to help reduce ever increasing electricity bills. The panels were installed onto the south facing elevation of the slate tiled roof on a major new extension. The site is somewhat challenging as the house is surrounded on three sides by trees, particularly on the west side. The panels were therefore positioned to minimise shading during the afternoon and evening.
